What is Aunt Flow's mission?
Aunt Flow's mission is to fight period poverty and stigma. Alongside ensuring that businesses and schools offer free period products for employees and students, our impact program supports activist-led pilot program initiatives and various grassroots nonprofit organizations. How does Aunt Flow give back?

What is period poverty?
Period poverty is the lack of access to period products and education. We believe fighting period poverty is one of the most tangible steps we can take toward achieving menstrual equality. You can learn more about it on our blog!
How much do we need to budget for?
We recommend estimating product quantities based on supplemental, as-needed period product usage at approximately 5 pieces per menstruator per school year. You can use our handy pricing calculator or meet with an Aunt Flow account rep to get a custom quote that includes our reduced educational pricing for a quick budget estimate. For a one-time individual donation request, apply here.
Will people take more than they need?
If your business or school offers toilet paper for free, then advocate for your facilities department to prioritize budgeting for freely accessible period products, too.
When dispensers are first installed in bathrooms, there could be higher-than-normal usage, which then levels out over time once people learn that period products are not just a one-time luxury item but will be available ongoing.
To help prevent the waste or misuse of Aunt Flow period products and dispensers, we have our handy educational bathroom signage!
Which bathrooms should we stock?
We recommend stocking every female-identified, all gender, and family bathroom with period care.
How is Aunt Flow committed to sustainability?
We’re committed to creating our products with the planet in mind—minimizing waste, using clean and safe ingredients, and supporting sustainable practices wherever we can. Learn more about our sustainability steps.
What are ways I can get more involved in the menstrual movement?
Aunt Flow believes in a multifaceted approach to achieving menstrual equity, including service, education, research, advocacy, and investment.
- Advocate for Aunt Flow at your school or workplace!
- Organize events in your community to raise awareness about menstrual health. This could involve hosting a period party, educational workshops, fundraising events, or period product drives to support menstruators in need.
- Lead educational workshops in your community about menstruation, sustainable menstrual products, and destigmatizing menstruation.
- Apply pressure to policymakers, decision-makers, and local leaders, advocating for policies that improve access to menstrual products and education. Learn about legislation in your state!
- If you’re a student, ask your school to include menstruation and menstrual health as part of the educational curriculum. In fact, 81% of students believe there needs to be more in-depth education about menstrual health and 82% of teens want to see more advocacy around menstrual health in 2025.
- Conduct and support more peer-reviewed research assessing the prevalence and health implications of period poverty. This data is important for supporting more grassroots advocacy efforts.
